The CLEVELAND C14807 is a screw machine length cobalt drill bit designed for drilling in tight-clearance and high-production environments. Built to Series 2133 specifications, this bit measures 5.1 mm (0.2008 inches) in diameter with a 62 mm (2.44 inches) overall length and a 26 mm (1.02 inches) flute length. The 135-degree split point reduces walking at drill entry and lowers the thrust needed to start a hole, making it a practical choice for production drilling on hard or abrasive materials. The cobalt construction (M42 grade) provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard high-speed steel bits.
This bit is suited for metalworking applications in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The screw machine length format — shorter than a jobber-length bit — improves rigidity and reduces deflection in drill press, turret lathe, and CNC drilling setups. Primary workpiece materials include alloy steel and aluminum. The right-hand cut, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Web-thinned geometry with a parallel web configuration reduces cutting resistance through the full depth of the hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use screw machine drill bit for standard straight-shank drill chucks in drill press, turret lathe, and CNC drilling applications where a stub-length cobalt bit in the 5.00 to 6.50 mm diameter range is specified.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die professionals in shop environments. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the drill chuck and verify runout before beginning a production run. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing bits. Do not exceed the rated speed range for the workpiece material and bit diameter — refer to the machine manufacturer and ASME B94.11M guidelines for appropriate surface footage recommendations.
