The CLEVELAND C14563 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-production drilling in tight clearance applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it handles the heat and abrasion generated when drilling alloy steels, aluminum, and other demanding workpiece materials. The 135-degree split point reduces walking at entry and lowers thrust force, making it well-suited for hand-held or machine-fed drilling without a center punch. Overall length is 1-7/8 inches with a 7/8-inch flute length, keeping the bit rigid and minimizing deflection in short-reach setups. Shank diameter matches the drill diameter at 0.1100 inches for a secure chuck grip.
This drill bit is intended for use in screw machines, CNC lathes, drill presses, and similar production equipment where a short, stiff bit body improves hole accuracy and tool life. It is appropriate for drilling alloy steel and aluminum in both light manufacturing and maintenance environments. The right-hand cut, straight-cylindrical shank, and regular spiral geometry are standard configurations recognized by machinists and tool-crib operators across metalworking shops. This bit is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit screw machine length drill bit for standard 3-jaw chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.1100-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use with alloy steel and aluminum workpieces as noted in Series 2133 application guidelines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the drill press, lathe, or screw machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before loading or changing the bit. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a production run. Follow applicable shop safety standards and manufacturer feed-and-speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
