The CLEVELAND C14265 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit designed for high-speed, short-reach drilling in production and shop environments. Built to Series 2175 specifications, it carries a wire size of 25 with a decimal diameter of 0.1495 inches and an overall length of 2-1/16 inches. The 135-degree split point provides a self-centering start that reduces walking and eliminates the need for a center punch in most applications. Two parabolic flutes promote efficient chip evacuation during interrupted cuts and deep-hole passes. The heavy-duty M42 cobalt construction handles elevated heat from harder workpiece materials without premature edge breakdown. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0000 to -0.0007 inches per ASME B94.11M.
This bit is suited for drilling alloy steels, aluminum, and similar materials in machining, fabrication, and toolroom settings. The screw machine length body keeps the cutting zone close to the spindle, improving rigidity and reducing deflection in production drilling fixtures, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw chucks and collet systems without modification. It is commonly used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians requiring a reliable short-series bit for repetitive hole work in metal stock.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use screw machine length drill bit for standard three-jaw chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.1495-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials listed by the manufacturer include alloy steel and aluminum.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or trained tradespeople following applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before drilling. Power down the spindle completely before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated speed range for the workpiece material or bit diameter, and use appropriate cutting fluid where the workpiece material requires it.
