The CLEVELAND C13152 is a No. 30 wire size aircraft extension drill bit engineered for deep-reach drilling applications where standard-length bits cannot access the workpiece. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on curved or angled surfaces. The spiral flute measures 1.625 inches in length, and the overall bit length is 6 inches, providing the extended reach required in aircraft assembly, automotive, and structural fabrication work. Two right-hand spiral flutes clear chips efficiently during operation. Manufactured to NAS 907 Type B standards, the C13152 is suited for use by aviation maintenance technicians, sheet metal workers, and precision fabricators.
This bit is intended for drilling in tight or recessed areas where standard jobber-length bits lack the reach to complete the hole. The extended shank allows technicians to work through deep flanges, structural members, or stacked sheet materials without repositioning fixtures. Its general-purpose performance rating makes it a practical choice for ferrous and non-ferrous metals commonly encountered in aerospace and general manufacturing environments. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill bit compatible with standard straight-cylindrical drill chucks; suited for general-purpose drilling in aviation maintenance, sheet metal fabrication, and structural assembly applications.
Aircraft extension drill bits are typically installed and operated by aviation maintenance technicians and precision sheet metal workers following applicable shop procedures and safety protocols. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before use, and verify chuck and bit are fully seated to prevent runout. Wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace any bit showing chipping, discoloration from overheating, or dimensional wear beyond tolerance.
