The CLEVELAND C11691 is a jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 37, ground from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. It measures 0.1040 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches overall, with a 1.4375-inch spiral flute and a straight-cylindrical shank of the same 0.1040-inch diameter. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements, making it well-suited for production drilling and precision hole work. This is a heavy-duty grade bit built to NAS 907 Type B standards. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and multi-trade service technicians reach for this size when drilling pilot holes in sheet metal, aluminum, and light ferrous stock.
The C11691 is designed for drilling aluminum as its primary workpiece material, though the high speed steel construction handles a range of light metals and plastics found in HVAC panels, electrical enclosures, and plumbing fixture work. The right-hand spiral flute with regular helix evacuates chips efficiently in through-hole and shallow-depth applications. At 2.5 inches overall length, it fits standard 3-jaw chucks and quick-change drill drivers used in field service and light shop work. Series 2222 from Cleveland is a recognized heavy-duty jobber line conforming to NAS 907 Type B dimensional standards.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit conforming to NAS 907 Type B standards, compatible with any standard straight-shank drill chuck or quick-change system accepting a 0.1040-inch shank.
This drill bit is installed by machinists, HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers using any drill press, hand drill, or right-angle driver equipped with a 3-jaw or quick-change chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter. Never exceed the rated speed for high speed steel tooling in hard materials. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if the point shows chipping or heat discoloration.
