The CLEVELAND C11605 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and requires less feed pressure than a conventional 118-degree point. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter, matching the 1/8-inch drill diameter, and the overall length of 2.75 inches fits standard drill chucks and drill press spindles. Web thinning and a tapered web configuration support efficient chip evacuation through the 1.625-inch spiral flute length. This bit meets NAS 907 Type B standards and is rated as heavy duty for its size class.
This drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous and ferrous materials in production and maintenance environments. Its 135-degree split point geometry makes it a practical choice for applications where precise hole location matters without a center punch. Machinists, maintenance technicians, sheet metal workers, and HVAC or plumbing trades using a drill press or hand drill will find this bit appropriate for small-diameter through-hole work in light to medium stock.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement drill bit for use in standard 1/8-inch drill chucks, drill presses, and hand drills. Primary workpiece material designation is aluminum, though the high speed steel construction is suitable for a range of non-ferrous materials. Series 2222 designation applies to this bit within the CLEVELAND product line.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed prior to starting the drill. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling aluminum to extend cutting edge life and improve hole finish. Ensure workpiece is clamped securely to prevent rotation during drilling. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dulling is observed.
