The CLEVELAND C11442 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 42 (0.0935 inches diameter), built for drilling into hard and abrasion-resistant materials. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiAlN coating, it handles elevated cutting temperatures better than standard HSS bits. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers required feed pressure. Overall length is 2.25 inches with a 1.25-inch parabolic flute. Right-hand cut with a straight-cylindrical shank. This bit is intended for use by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with stainless steel, titanium, cast iron, and other hard alloys.
The C11442 is suited for precision drilling applications in metalworking, maintenance, and fabrication environments where small-diameter holes in tough materials are required. Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or MQL when drilling stainless steel or titanium to extend tool life, even though the TiAlN coating supports dry cutting in many applications.
