The CLEVELAND C11437 is a jobber-length drill bit built for demanding production and maintenance drilling in tough materials. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiAlN coating, the bit handles heat and wear far better than standard HSS tooling. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and thrust at entry, making it suitable for hard-to-start surfaces. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1.4375-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and drill presses without modification. Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance mechanics, and tool-room technicians working to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards.
The C11437 is sized at 0.1040 inches (Wire Size 37) and is engineered for drilling cast iron and stainless steel, two materials that generate high cutting temperatures and accelerate tool wear. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole drilling, reducing chip packing in sticky or stringy materials. The straight cylindrical shank seats cleanly in keyed or keyless drill chucks across a range of drill press, hand drill, and CNC spindle applications. It is a single-piece, right-hand-cut bit sold individually.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.1040-inch straight cylindrical shank. Appropriate for drilling cast iron and stainless steel per the Series 2075A application rating. Fits drill presses, hand drills, and CNC spindles configured for jobber-length tooling in the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch diameter range.
Install and remove drill bits only with the machine powered off and the spindle at a complete stop. Secure the straight cylindrical shank fully within the chuck jaws before tightening to minimize runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for stainless steel applications to extend tool life, noting that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges and point for wear or chipping before each use; a worn split point on cobalt tooling should be reground or replaced rather than forced through the workpiece.
