The CLEVELAND C09750 is a taper length drill bit from the 950E Series, designed for drilling into ferrous metals and hard materials where a longer flute length is needed beyond a standard jobber bit. Built from high-speed steel with a coated finish, the bit features a 118-degree standard point with web thinning for easier penetration and reduced walking on entry. The spiral flute geometry is regular helix with a tapered web configuration, promoting chip evacuation during deep hole operations. This bit suits maintenance machinists, fabricators, and metalworking professionals who need consistent performance in production or repair environments.
The C09750 is suited for drilling alloy tool steel, carbon steel, and cast iron in general-purpose metalworking applications. The taper length body — 9 inches of flute and 12 inches overall — provides reach for setups where a jobber-length bit cannot access the workpiece, such as deep fixture work, heavy plate, or angled drill press applications. Right-hand cut, straight shank at 11/32 inch diameter, and a 3-inch shank length allow direct chucking in standard drill presses, lathes, and magnetic base drills without adapters.
Designed for general-purpose metalworking use in alloy tool steel, carbon steel, and cast iron applications. Compatible with any drill press, lathe tailstock, or portable drill unit accepting a straight 11/32-inch shank.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press and metalworking safety practices. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the material being drilled to extend tool life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if damage is observed.
