The CLEVELAND C09711 is an extra length high-speed steel drill bit designed for deeper drilling and long-reach drilling applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. It features a 3/16 inch diameter, a 118-degree standard point angle, and a black oxide finish that provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces friction during cutting. The spiral flute design with web thinning promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the tapered web configuration improves bit rigidity along the full 10 inch overall length. This bit is suited for use by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and general-trade technicians who need reliable reach in confined or deep-bore situations.
The C09711 is built for drilling into cast iron and steel as its primary workpiece materials, making it applicable across HVAC equipment fabrication, plumbing rough-in, electrical panel work, and general metalworking. Its 7.5 inch flute length and 10 inch overall length allow access to deep holes that standard jobber-length bits cannot achieve. The right-hand cutting direction and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and drill presses without additional adapters. The Series 950E designation places it in a general-purpose extra-length product family appropriate for shop and field use.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces. The 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard keyed and keyless drill chucks used in hand drills, drill presses, and similar equipment. Meets ASME B94.11M and ANSI specification designations.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and trade technicians using standard drill equipment. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and discard the bit if chipping or excessive wear is visible.
