The CLEVELAND C08832 is a taper length, straight-shank drill bit engineered for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from high-speed steel with a coated finish, it carries a 118-degree standard point and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The bit measures 15/32 inch (0.4688 inch) in diameter, with a 4-3/4 inch flute length and a 7-1/2 inch overall length. The spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This bit is part of the Series 2510 line and is sized for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with ferrous materials.
The C08832 is suited for through-hole and deep-hole drilling applications in alloy steel, carbon steel, and cast iron. Its taper length profile, longer than a jobber bit, provides added reach in fixtures, structural members, and deep stock where standard-length bits fall short. Right-hand cutting direction follows conventional drill press and hand-drill use. The straight shank accommodates standard three-jaw chucks across a wide range of drill presses, hand drills, and mill setups. Sold individually, this bit fits production shops, maintenance departments, and field fabrication work.
Rated for general-purpose drilling in alloy steel, carbon steel, and cast iron. Designed as a Series 2510 taper length replacement suitable for drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand drills equipped with chucks accepting straight-shank bits up to 15/32 inch diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard three-jaw drill chuck. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the bit. Secure the shank with sufficient chuck jaw engagement across the full 2-3/4 inch shank length to prevent pullout under load. Coolant-through capability is not available on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling in hard alloys to manage heat buildup.
