The CLEVELAND C08752 is a taper length twist drill bit built for general-purpose hole-making in metal fabrication and machining applications. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a coated finish, this bit measures 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch) in diameter and features a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning for easier center engagement and reduced walking. The spiral flute design runs 3-7/8 inches in length, and the overall length is 6-1/4 inches, giving it reach beyond a standard jobber-length bit. The straight shank diameter is 0.2656 inch, compatible with standard drill chucks. Right-hand cutting direction with a tapered web configuration supports consistent chip evacuation during drilling operations.
This bit is suited for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, and cast iron in production shop, maintenance, and field service environments. The taper length body provides added reach for deep-hole work where a jobber-length bit falls short. It is commonly used by machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and general trade professionals working with ferrous metals. The general-purpose grade makes it appropriate for both manual drill press setups and CNC drilling operations at moderate feeds and speeds. Coolant-through capability is not included in this design.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit for use with alloy steel, carbon steel, and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with any drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle accepting a straight shank of 0.2656 inch diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and trade professionals using standard drill presses or powered hand drills. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Always power down and de-energize the machine before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant for ferrous metals to maintain edge life and control heat buildup.
