The CLEVELAND C08594 is a taper length, high-speed steel drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in a range of ferrous materials. Built to Series 2510 specifications, it features a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning for improved penetration and reduced thrust. The straight shank measures 0.0410 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 2.25 inches with a flute length of 1.125 inches. The spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut are standard for use in conventional drill presses, hand drills, and CNC setups where wire-gauge sizing is required. This bit is sold individually but must be ordered in multiples of 10.
This drill bit is sized to wire gauge 59, equivalent to 0.0410 inches decimal, making it appropriate for precision hole work in alloy steel, carbon steel, and cast iron. The taper length body provides additional reach compared to jobber-length bits, which is useful in applications where standard-length bits fall short. It is well-suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in light industrial or job-shop environments. The coated finish helps extend tool life under general-purpose cutting conditions.
Designed for use with standard drill chucks accepting straight-shank bits at 0.0410 inches shank diameter. Rated for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, and cast iron per manufacturer material application data.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trades personnel familiar with metal-cutting operations. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm chuck grip on the straight shank before starting the spindle. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable shop safety procedures when operating drilling equipment. Inspect the cutting edges before use and replace the bit if the point shows visible wear or chipping.
