The CLEVELAND C04419 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for high-volume production drilling and general-purpose metal removal. Built from high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it runs at standard cutting speeds across a broad range of workpiece materials. The 118-degree standard point angle provides reliable self-centering on flat and curved surfaces without a pilot hole. At 1.875 inches overall length, the short flute geometry delivers added rigidity over jobber-length bits, reducing deflection and chatter in short-reach drilling applications. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, and the web-thinned parallel web reduces thrust requirements at entry.
This bit is suited for production floor use on drill presses, CNC turret presses, and manual turret lathes where a rigid, short drill is preferred. Primary workpiece materials listed by the manufacturer include alloy steel and aluminum. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks without an adapter. Series 2120 identifies this as part of Cleveland's general-purpose screw machine length line, appropriate for machine shops, maintenance departments, and fabrication operations drilling hole diameters in the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch range.
Designed for general-purpose drilling in alloy steel and aluminum. Compatible with any standard three-jaw drill chuck sized to accept a 0.1100-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for drill presses, CNC turret machines, and manually operated lathes requiring screw machine length tooling in the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-setup technicians. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck and verify runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing bits. Do not use in hand-held portable drills where lateral loading may cause breakage of small-diameter bits.
