The CLEVELAND C03158 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 118-degree standard point angle and a fast spiral flute configuration. It measures 29/64 inch in diameter with an overall length of 5-5/8 inches and a flute length of 4-3/16 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank ensures secure chuck retention in standard drill presses and handheld drills. Web-thinned construction reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation during cutting. This bit is suited for HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical trades where accurate, repeatable hole placement is required.
The C03158 is rated for use on aluminum as its primary workpiece material and performs well across other non-ferrous metals and soft ferrous materials in general shop and field applications. With a right-hand cut and two-flute fast spiral design, it clears chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. The Series 2012 designation identifies it within the CLEVELAND standard jobber line, a widely stocked format in trade and industrial supply. Typical applications include sheet metal layout, fixture drilling, and component fabrication in mechanical contractor environments.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 29/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use with benchtop drill presses, magnetic drills, and handheld power drills in trade and light industrial settings.
Install this bit into a properly sized chuck and tighten securely before operation. Ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement during drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling aluminum or other non-ferrous metals to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edges before use and replace the bit if chipping or wear is evident.
