The CLEVELAND C02938 is a jobber length drill bit manufactured from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish. Sized to wire gauge 53 (0.0595 inches), it features a 118-degree standard point angle and a fast spiral, two-flute design that promotes efficient chip evacuation during drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.0595 inches in diameter and 1.0 inch in length, with an overall length of 1.875 inches and a flute length of 0.875 inches. The web is thinned and tapered to reduce entry resistance and improve centering on initiation. This bit is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals who require precise small-diameter drilling.
This drill bit is rated for general purpose use with aluminum as the primary workpiece material, making it well suited for sheet metal work, light fabrication, and maintenance applications where small wire-gauge holes are required. The right-hand cut and fast spiral flute geometry support clean hole entry and exit in softer non-ferrous materials. It is sold individually (package quantity of 1) and must be ordered in multiples of 10. The Series 2012 designation places it within a standardized jobber length product family conforming to ASME B94.11M and ANSI specification.
Designed as a general purpose jobber length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.0595-inch straight-cylindrical shank, suitable for bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling operations within the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch drill bit size range.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard drill chucks or collet holders sized for the 0.0595-inch shank diameter. Ensure the chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely fixtured before operation. At small diameters, excessive feed pressure can cause bit deflection or breakage — use consistent, controlled feed rates. Verify spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter per standard machining reference tables.
