The CLEVELAND C01041 is a wire gauge size 66 jobber length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication and maintenance applications. It is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating to reduce friction and extend service life under normal cutting conditions. The bit measures 0.0330 inches in diameter with a 1-3/8 inch overall length and features a standard 118-degree split point with web thinning for improved penetration and reduced walking at the start of a hole. The two-flute spiral design provides efficient chip evacuation during drilling. This bit is sized for use in precision hand drill motors, drill presses, and CNC drilling setups where small-diameter accuracy is critical.
The C01041 is suited for drilling cast iron and steel in light industrial, maintenance, and production environments. Its straight cylindrical shank fits standard keyless and keyed chucks. The 0.5-inch flute length is appropriate for shallow-hole work typical of wire gauge drill applications. Electricians, machinists, and HVAC technicians commonly reach for wire gauge bits in this range when drilling pilot holes for small fasteners, sensor ports, or electrical conduit anchors.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit compatible with any standard drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle equipped with a chuck accepting a 0.0330-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel.
This bit is installed by a machinist or qualified tradesperson into a properly rated drill press or hand-held drill motor. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck key removal before powering the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling steel to extend bit life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate for the workpiece material, and replace the bit if tip wear causes oversize holes or excessive heat buildup.
