The CLE-LINE C66020 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, designed for general-purpose drilling in demanding materials. It features a 135-degree split point for fast penetration and reduced walking on entry, and a web-thinned, tapered web construction that lowers thrust requirements. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 23/64 inches in diameter with a 4-7/8 inch overall length and a 3-1/2 inch flute length, this bit suits production and maintenance drilling in metal fabrication, mechanical, and industrial service environments. Licensed tradespeople and tool-equipped service technicians are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. The cobalt construction provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, making it a practical choice for harder or abrasive workpieces. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks on handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC setups. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction during the cut, extending tool life in high-cycle or production-volume applications.
Designed for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks on handheld drills, drill presses, and compatible CNC toolholding systems. Rated for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals per the Series 1501-TT application guidelines.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists, maintenance technicians, or tradespeople familiar with drill press or rotary tool operation. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm the shank is fully seated and clamped in the chuck. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling steel or cast iron to manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
