The CLE-LINE C65625 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads on bolts, studs, and threaded rod. It cuts a 1-1/8-7 UNC right-hand thread profile and seats in a standard 2-inch hex die stock for secure, slip-free turning. The die body is 1 inch thick, machined from carbon steel for durability under repeated use. This is a non-adjustable, fixed-tolerance die suited for cleanup and restoration work rather than cutting new threads from blank stock. Plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and maintenance mechanics reach for this tool when field-damaged fasteners need to be brought back to spec without full replacement.
The C65625 is used wherever 1-1/8-7 UNC fasteners appear in mechanical assemblies, structural connections, and piping support hardware. Common applications include restoring threads on anchor bolts, pipe hanger rod, equipment mounting studs, and heavy-duty fasteners exposed to corrosion or impact damage. It is equally at home in a shop environment or on a job site, provided the appropriate 2-inch hex die stock is available. The fixed design keeps the thread profile consistent across every pass, which is important when the restored fastener must accept a standard nut or coupling without modification.
Designed for use with standard 2-inch hex die stocks. Fits the CLE-LINE Series 0650 system. Restores 1-1/8-7 UNC right-hand external threads on bolts, studs, and threaded rod.
A licensed mechanic, pipefitter, or maintenance technician should perform rethreading work using a properly sized die stock matched to the 2-inch hex of this die. Before use, clean the damaged fastener of debris, rust, and burrs to reduce die wear and improve thread quality. Apply cutting oil to the die and workpiece throughout the pass to reduce heat and extend tool life. Never force the die past resistance - back off periodically to clear chips and prevent binding or die breakage.
