The CLE-LINE C30519 is a cobalt mechanics drill bit designed for left-hand cutting in demanding metalworking applications. Built to ASME B94.11M standards, this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on entry and minimizes the need for a center punch. The gold finish indicates cobalt steel construction, which provides better heat and wear resistance than standard high-speed steel. At 19/64 inches in diameter with a 3-5/8 inch overall length, it is suited for professionals who need a reliable, short-length bit for use in tight or constrained work envelopes. Licensed trade machinists and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this tooling.
This mechanics-length cobalt drill bit is intended for use on hard and difficult-to-machine workpiece materials including superalloys and titanium. The left-hand cutting direction is particularly useful when drilling into fasteners that have broken flush or slightly below the surface, as the reverse rotation can help back out the fastener during the drilling process. The spiral flute design with tapered web and web-thinned geometry improves chip evacuation and reduces thrust when drilling tough base metals. It fits standard drill chucks accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed for use on superalloy and titanium workpiece materials. Fits any standard drill chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical 19/64 inch shank. Part of the CLE-LINE Series 1880 left-hand cobalt drill line.
This bit is installed in standard or reversible drill motors and drill presses by machinists or maintenance technicians. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped before drilling. When using left-hand bits for broken fastener extraction, run the drill in reverse at low speed and apply steady feed pressure. Do not exceed the recommended RPM for cobalt bits drilling hard materials, as excessive speed generates heat that shortens tool life.
