The CLE-LINE C30507 is a cobalt mechanics drill bit designed for drilling into superalloys, titanium, and other high-hardness materials that push standard high-speed steel bits past their limits. The bit measures 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch decimal, 2.78 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 2-3/16 inches (55.56 mm) and a 1-inch flute length. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking at startup and requires less feed pressure, making it well suited for hand drilling and drill press work on tough stock. The gold coating indicates a surface treatment applied during the manufacturing process. This is a left-hand cutting bit and is part of the Series 1880 line, conforming to ASME B94.11M standards.
This bit is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople who need to drill or extract fasteners from ferrous and non-ferrous superalloys and titanium workpieces. The mechanics length - shorter than a jobber-length bit - provides added rigidity in confined spaces and on drill presses where minimal deflection is critical. The left-hand cutting direction also makes this bit a practical choice for reverse-spin fastener extraction applications.
The C30507 is designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks. Primary workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium; workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S as defined by standard cutting tool material classification. Spiral type is regular with a straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 7/64 inch.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with metalworking drill presses and hand-held drilling equipment. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent movement, and confirm chuck compatibility with the straight-cylindrical shank before starting. Note that this is a left-hand cutting bit - the drill must be run in reverse (counterclockwise) rotation for the cutting edge to engage the material. Coolant-through is not supported; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling hard alloys to manage heat buildup and extend bit life.
