The CLE-LINE C22735 is a jobber-length drill bit sized at Letter O (0.3160 inches) with a 118-degree standard point angle and a web-thinned tip for reduced thrust on entry. Constructed from high speed steel with an oxide coating, it is designed for general-purpose drilling in production and maintenance environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.3160 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks. With a 2-flute regular spiral configuration and a right-hand cut, the C22735 delivers consistent chip evacuation in a wide range of common materials. HVAC sheet metal fabricators, pipefitters, electricians, and general maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum and similar non-ferrous metals, as well as soft steels and plastics in light industrial and trade applications. The 3-3/16 inch flute length provides adequate chip clearance for typical through-hole work in sheet stock and structural members. The Series 1899 design conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338, making it a recognized standard-format jobber bit for bench drill presses, hand drills, and magnetic drill setups. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 6 units.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill presses, cordless and corded hand drills, and magnetic drills accepting a 0.3160-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material classifications include aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and plastics per the supplier material codes.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck jaws before drilling and verify chuck key is removed before powering the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling metals to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Drilling speeds should be selected based on workpiece material hardness; softer materials allow higher RPM while harder alloys require slower speeds. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace if chipping or dulling is observed.
