The CLE-LINE C17725 is a carbide abrasive rotary bur with a ball head profile, manufactured to SD-40 industry specifications. It features a 1/16 inch cutting diameter and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, with an overall length of 1.5 inches. The uncoated carbide head delivers consistent material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Rated to 100,000 RPM, this bur is suited for high-speed die grinder work in metal fabrication, maintenance, and repair applications. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary users of this type of rotary bur.
The C17725 ball bur is used in die grinding, deburring, port matching, and surface preparation tasks across ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates. Applicable materials include steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The ball shape makes it well suited for contoured surfaces, recesses, and internal radius work where flat or cylindrical profiles cannot reach. It is commonly used in manufacturing, welding prep, and MRO environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use carbide bur for die grinders and rotary tools accepting a 1/8 inch shank collet.
This bur is installed by machinists and metalworking technicians using a die grinder or compatible rotary tool with a 1/8 inch collet. Ensure the tool is fully powered down and unplugged before inserting or removing the bur. Verify collet tightness before operating at elevated RPM, and never exceed the 100,000 RPM maximum rating. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating rotary burs on metal.
