The CHICAGO PNEUMATIC 8941072021 is a handheld pneumatic disc sander designed for surface preparation, finishing, and material removal in shop and field environments. Powered by compressed air at 90 psi and consuming 21 CFM, it spins a 3-inch sanding disc at up to 15,000 RPM, delivering fast stock removal in a compact, lightweight package at 2.5 pounds. The 1/4-inch inlet connects directly to standard shop air lines. At 0.25 HP, this tool is sized for detail work and tight access areas. It is installed and operated by machinists, auto body technicians, metal fabricators, and general maintenance trades.
This disc sander suits residential body shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial maintenance operations where a small-diameter, high-speed air sander is needed. The 3-inch pad handles deburring, paint removal, rust removal, and surface blending on metal, wood, and composite substrates. The through-handle exhaust directs spent air away from the work surface, reducing debris recirculation at the operator. The 2-fingered throttle provides controlled trigger engagement for variable material removal rates.
Designed for use with 3-inch diameter sanding discs with a 75 mm pad. Requires a compressed air supply capable of delivering 21 CFM at 90 psi through a standard 1/4-inch fitting.
Depressurize and disconnect the air supply line before attaching or changing sanding discs. A licensed or qualified operator should verify the air compressor output pressure does not exceed the tool rated operating pressure of 90 psi. Inspect the disc and backing pad for wear or damage before each use. Follow applicable OSHA and shop safety guidelines for eye and hearing protection when operating pneumatic abrasive tools.
