The CHICAGO PNEUMATIC 8941071150 is an air-powered inline needle scaler built for surface preparation tasks including rust removal, paint stripping, and scale removal on metal surfaces. Operating at 4,000 blows per minute (BPM) and requiring 90 psi of supply pressure, this tool delivers consistent impact energy for demanding shop and field applications. It draws 4.1 SCFM of air and connects through a 1/4 inch inlet fitting. The inline body design keeps the tool balanced and easy to control during extended use. Licensed HVAC techs, pipefitters, welders, and general maintenance contractors use this type of scaler to prep weld joints, pipe surfaces, and structural steel before coating or inspection.
This needle scaler is suited for light to medium industrial and commercial maintenance work. It handles surface prep on pipe flanges, structural members, castings, and equipment frames. The 1/2 inch needle diameter and 1 inch stroke length provide effective material removal without aggressive gouging. Applications include boiler room maintenance, mechanical room pipe prep, shipyard and fabrication shop use, and general contractor metalwork where a clean surface is required before painting or welding.
Designed for use with standard needle scaler needle sets. Compatible with air supply systems delivering 90 psi at a minimum of 4.1 SCFM through a 1/4 inch NPT air line connection.
Installation and operation of this tool should be performed by qualified technicians familiar with pneumatic hand tools. Always shut off and bleed the compressed air supply before connecting or disconnecting the tool from the air line. Verify that the supply hose and fittings are rated for the required operating pressure before use. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during scaler operation due to high-velocity needle and debris impact.
