The CHICAGO-LATROBE 69007 is a heavy-duty jobber length drill bit designed for drilling steel alloy and similar ferrous materials. It carries a No. 7 wire size designation with a decimal diameter of 0.2010 inches and a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and cutting force at entry. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation and heat dissipation during deeper drilling passes. Built from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, the 69007 is part of the Series 150DH line and is suited for production and maintenance drilling operations where accuracy and tool life matter.
This drill bit fits standard jobber-length drilling applications in metalworking environments, including fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production lines. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks without special toolholders. With an overall length of 3.625 inches and a flute length of 2.4375 inches, it is sized for moderate-depth holes in steel alloy workpieces. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements, making it well suited for hand drills, drill presses, and light CNC drilling centers. No coolant-through capability is present, so external cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling harder or thicker steel stock.
Designed as a standard jobber length replacement drill bit for use in hand drills, drill presses, and light-duty CNC drilling operations where a No. 7 wire size straight-shank bit is required. Primary workpiece material rated for steel alloy.
Installation is performed by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing bits. Apply cutting fluid externally when drilling steel alloy to extend tool life and improve hole finish, as this bit does not support coolant-through delivery.
