Install and remove this bit only with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Secure the tanged shank firmly in the Morse taper socket before applying any feed pressure to prevent shank pullout under load. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain hole-diameter tolerance. Inspect the cutting edges and flutes for chips or wear before each use; a damaged split point will produce oversized or off-center holes.
