The CHICAGO-LATROBE 54051 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials including stainless steel and hardened steels. Measuring 9/64 inches (0.1406 inches decimal) in diameter with a 135-degree split point, this bit cuts aggressively with less feed pressure than a conventional 118-degree point. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding production and maintenance drilling applications. At 2-7/8 inches overall length with a 1-3/4 inch flute length, the 54051 fits standard drill chucks without modification. It is suited for machinists, fabricators, maintenance technicians, and HVAC and plumbing professionals who regularly work with corrosion-resistant alloys.
This drill bit is built for use in metal fabrication shops, mechanical rooms, and field service environments where stainless steel and high-alloy steel are common workpiece materials.
