Chicago-Latrobe 50425 is a taper-length high-speed steel (HSS) drill bit with a 118° conventional point, 7 in overall length and 4.375 in flute/cutting depth. It has a straight 0.404 in (letter Y) shank, two spiral flutes and a steam oxide finish for improved lubricity and wear resistance. The 4xD depth-to-diameter ratio and right-hand cutting geometry are intended for metalworking on alloy steel, carbon steel and cast iron.
