The CHICAGO-LATROBE 49513 is a taper length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in ferrous metals and hard materials. Manufactured from high speed steel with a coated finish, it measures 13/64 inch (0.2031 inches) in diameter and runs an overall length of 6 inches. The 118-degree standard point angle suits a wide range of materials and is a familiar geometry for most trade and shop applications. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust at the point and improves chip evacuation. Right-hand spiral flutes move chips away from the cutting edge during operation. This bit is part of the Series 255AN line and is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople.
