The CHICAGO-LATROBE 44202 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Ground from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 118-degree standard point angle and a right-hand spiral flute with a regular helix. The 1/32 inch diameter and 1-3/8 inch overall length place it in the small-diameter range used by machinists, HVAC fabricators, electricians, and plumbers for pilot holes, sheet metal work, and precision layout drilling. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at this small diameter.
This bit is suited for light-duty production and service work across residential and commercial trades. Typical applications include drilling pilot holes in sheet metal ductwork, electrical enclosures, copper and aluminum fittings, and non-ferrous structural components. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard keyless or keyed drill chucks without modification, making it compatible with most handheld and bench-mounted drilling equipment encountered in the field or shop. The Series 150D designation places this bit in CHICAGO-LATROBE's general-purpose jobber line, conforming to DIN 338 standards.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit suitable for use with standard handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling equipment accepting a 1/32 inch straight-cylindrical shank; rated for non-ferrous metal as the primary workpiece material.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists, sheet metal fabricators, and trade technicians working with handheld or bench-mounted drilling equipment. Always secure the workpiece and confirm the drill chuck is tightened before operation. At 1/32 inch diameter, use low feed pressure and appropriate RPM to avoid bit breakage. Follow shop safety practices and applicable trade standards when drilling in energized enclosures or pressurized systems.
