The CHICAGO-LATROBE 44019 is a jobber length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial applications. Manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating, it measures 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch decimal) in diameter with a 4-3/8 inch overall length. The 118-degree standard point angle and spiral flute geometry provide efficient chip evacuation and consistent entry on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Right-hand cutting direction and a straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard three-jaw drill chucks and most drill press or handheld power drill setups. Web-thinned construction reduces thrust requirements at the cutting tip.
The 44019 is suited for drilling cast iron, steel, and similar workpiece materials in production and field environments. Its jobber length format balances reach and rigidity, making it a practical choice for electricians, pipefitters, ironworkers, and general maintenance technicians who need a reliable general-purpose bit for everyday drilling tasks. The Series 150 designation places it within CHICAGO-LATROBE's standard jobber line, built to DIN 338 dimensional standards.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber length drill bit compatible with standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 19/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank; primary workpiece materials listed in specifications are cast iron and steel.
Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals using a drill press or handheld power drill with an appropriate three-jaw chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel to extend tool life; note that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace if the point geometry is degraded.
