The CHICAGO-LATROBE 43607 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from M7 high speed steel with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS bits. The bit measures 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) in diameter with a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and requires no center punch on most surfaces. Overall length is 2-5/8 inches with a 1-1/2-inch flute length. A tapered web and web-thinned geometry reduce cutting forces and improve chip evacuation. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, electricians, and pipefitters will find this bit sized right for pilot holes, sheet metal, and conduit work.
The 43607 is suited for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel in both residential and commercial settings. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard 3-jaw chucks on corded or cordless drills and drill presses. The 2-flute spiral configuration and regular spiral type make it appropriate for general-purpose through-hole and blind-hole drilling where chip clearance in tight-diameter work is needed. It meets NAS 907 Type B standards, making it appropriate for aerospace-grade and heavy-duty fabrication workflows as well.
