The CHARLOTTE PIPE XBRS-MA-114LF is a 1-1/4 inch low-lead brass male adapter designed to transition between CPVC CTS (Copper Tube Size) piping and threaded male iron pipe (MIP) connections in a Thompson-style configuration. This fitting is rated for both hot and cold potable water distribution in pressure systems where temperatures do not exceed 180 degrees F. It is manufactured from low-lead brass, making it suitable for use in systems that must meet lead-free compliance standards. Licensed plumbers install this adapter wherever a CPVC CTS run must connect to a threaded male fitting, such as at valves, water heaters, or fixture supplies.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial hot and cold water distribution systems built with FlowGuard Gold CPVC CTS pipe. It is suited for pressure applications and is compatible with systems requiring no primer during CPVC solvent-cement assembly on the socket end. The fitting meets stringent potable water standards and is non-toxic, making it appropriate for drinking water and domestic plumbing systems. Typical install scenarios include water heater connections, shutoff valve transitions, and supply stub-outs where a threaded male connection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 1-1/4 inch CPVC CTS pressure piping systems using FlowGuard Gold pipe, where a male threaded brass transition to iron pipe thread is required. Also referenced as Thompson Style 302-406NL.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC and local amendments. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. The CPVC socket end joins with solvent cement only — do not apply open flame or heat-fusion tools to CPVC fittings. Use thread sealant tape or paste rated for potable water on the MIP threads before assembly.
