The CHARLOTTE PIPE XBRS-FA-34LF is a 3/4-inch CTS low-lead brass female adapter designed to transition between a female iron pipe (FIP) brass thread and a CPVC socket end. This fitting is manufactured in the Thompson style and is built for use in hot and cold potable water distribution systems operating under continuous pressure. The low-lead brass construction meets current Safe Drinking Water Act compliance requirements, making it appropriate for installation in residential and light commercial plumbing where lead content restrictions apply. Licensed plumbers install this fitting as part of FlowGuard Gold CPVC piping assemblies.
This adapter is used in 3/4-inch CTS CPVC pressure piping systems for hot and cold water distribution where temperatures do not exceed 180 degrees F. It is suited for residential water supply lines, multi-family construction, and light commercial applications. The female threaded brass end accepts a standard male iron pipe thread, while the CPVC socket end connects directly to 3/4-inch CTS CPVC pipe. No primer is required on the CPVC socket side, simplifying installation in tight spaces or retrofit scenarios.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch CTS FlowGuard Gold CPVC piping systems in hot and cold water distribution applications. Replaces Thompson style fitting reference 302-414NL (H48101).
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing any fitting. Apply CPVC solvent cement to the CPVC socket end per the cement manufacturer's instructions — no primer is required on the CPVC side, but ensure pipe and fitting surfaces are clean and dry before cementing. Use a strap wrench on the brass threaded end to avoid over-tightening, which can crack the fitting body or damage the thread seal.
