The CHARLOTTE PIPE XBRS-DEFAELL-12LF is a 1/2 inch CTS CPVC drop ear elbow fitting with a street by female pipe thread (FPT) configuration, manufactured from low lead brass. This fitting is designed for use in FlowGuard Gold CPVC CTS plumbing systems handling hot and cold potable water distribution. It provides a 90-degree directional change while the drop ear design allows the fitting to be fastened to a wall or structural backing, securing the pipe terminus for fixture connections. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during rough-in work in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This fitting is intended for pressure systems where operating temperatures do not exceed 180 degrees F. It is suited for residential and light commercial hot and cold water supply lines using CTS-dimensioned CPVC pipe. The drop ear configuration is commonly used at shower arms, tub spouts, and wall-mounted fixture supply stubs where the fitting needs to be anchored to framing before drywall installation. Designed for use with FlowGuard Gold CPVC CTS hot and cold water distribution systems. Intended as a drop ear elbow fitting in 1/2 inch CTS CPVC pressure piping applications where a wall-mounted stub-out is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before making any connections. The FPT end accepts standard threaded male fittings; use appropriate thread sealant compatible with brass and CPVC materials. Secure the drop ear mounting flange to structural backing before closing the wall to provide a stable, rattle-free fixture connection.
