The Charlotte Pipe Foundry PVC42000800 is a 2-inch Schedule 40 PVC foam core pipe designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) applications in non-pressure plumbing systems. The foam core construction reduces overall weight compared to solid-wall pipe while maintaining the structural integrity required for code-compliant DWV installations. Each length runs 20 feet with plain ends, making it straightforward to cut and solvent-weld to standard Schedule 40 PVC DWV fittings. Manufactured to ASTM F-891 and certified to NSF Standard 14, this pipe meets the material and performance requirements enforced by most residential and commercial plumbing codes.
This pipe is used in residential and light commercial drain, waste, and vent systems where non-pressure service conditions apply. Typical installations include horizontal drain runs, vertical stack lines, and vent piping concealed in walls, floors, and ceilings. The plain-end configuration is compatible with solvent-cement socket fittings throughout the Schedule 40 PVC DWV fitting family. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers, though the pipe sees use in renovation and rough-in work across a wide range of project types.
Designed for use in non-pressure DWV plumbing systems and is compatible with Schedule 40 PVC DWV solvent-weld fittings and couplings sized for 2-inch nominal pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local plumbing code. Solvent-cement connections require proper primer and PVC cement applied per manufacturer instructions and ASTM standards. This pipe is rated for non-pressure DWV service only — do not use on pressurized supply lines. Support spacing and hanger selection should follow code-specified intervals for 2-inch PVC horizontal and vertical runs.
