The CHARLOTTE PIPE PVC-601-8X8X4 is a reducing wye fitting designed for PVC drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems. It connects an 8-inch main line to a 4-inch branch, allowing directional flow changes in gravity-fed waste elimination systems. Built from Schedule 40 PVC, this fitting is suited for non-pressure applications where temperatures will not exceed 140 degrees F. Plumbers install this fitting during rough-in work on residential and commercial DWV systems using standard solvent cement joining. The lightweight PVC construction reduces handling fatigue and speeds installation without requiring specialized cutting tools.
This reducing wye is used in drain, waste, and vent piping systems where a main 8-inch run requires a 4-inch branch takeoff. Typical applications include main stack connections, horizontal drain runs, and branch drain tie-ins in residential and commercial construction. The wye configuration promotes smooth, low-turbulence flow, making it appropriate for gravity-fed sanitary drainage layouts. All Charlotte Pipe products are manufactured in the USA.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for PVC DWV piping systems using 8-inch main and 4-inch branch pipe.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and drain the system before cutting into any existing drain line. Clean and dry all mating surfaces before applying solvent cement, and allow full cure time before restoring flow. Do not use this fitting in pressurized water supply systems.
