The CHARLOTTE PIPE PVC-601-12X12X6 is a reducing wye fitting designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) applications in non-pressure, gravity-fed waste elimination systems. This fitting connects a 6-inch branch line into a 12-inch main run, making it a common choice for trunk-line transitions in residential and commercial drain systems. PVC construction keeps the fitting lightweight and resistant to corrosion. Rated for use in systems where temperatures do not exceed 140 degrees F, this wye is compatible with standard solvent cement joining methods used throughout the trade.
This fitting is intended for DWV piping systems installed in residential and commercial construction. Plumbers use it when transitioning from a larger main drain line to a smaller branch line, particularly in horizontal drain runs where a wye configuration is required by code. It is not rated for pressure service. The fitting is manufactured in the USA by Charlotte Pipe, a manufacturer recognized in the plumbing trade for PVC and cast iron drain products.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for PVC DWV piping systems conforming to ASTM D3034 and applicable drain, waste, and vent standards in residential and commercial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off water supply and ensure the drain system is depressurized and clear before cutting into an existing line. Solvent cement joints require proper surface preparation including cleaning and priming per the cement manufacturer instructions. This fitting is not suitable for pressure piping, potable water supply lines, or systems exceeding 140 degrees F.
