The CHARLOTTE PIPE pvc-601-10x10x8 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing wye fitting designed for non-pressure drain, waste, and vent (DWV) drainage systems. It features a 45-degree branch angle and a hub x hub x hub end connection configuration at a nominal size of 10 inches x 10 inches x 8 inches. Fabricated from rigid PVC material, this fitting meets the material specifications of ASTM D1784, D1785, D2665, D3311, and F1866, and carries a temperature rating of 140 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in gravity-flow waste and vent piping assemblies.
This reducing wye is intended for use in DWV and non-pressure drainage system applications, making it appropriate for both residential and commercial drain and vent piping. The reducing branch allows a transition from an 8-inch branch line into a 10-inch main run, supporting proper flow direction and minimizing turbulence at the junction. Its Schedule 40 wall thickness meets standard requirements for sanitary and storm drainage configurations where non-pressure service conditions apply.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 40 PVC hub-end reducing wye for use in non-pressure DWV drainage systems where a 10-inch x 10-inch x 8-inch nominal reducing wye fitting is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable local plumbing code and IPC requirements for DWV piping. Confirm all flow is stopped and the system is depressurized before cutting into an existing line. Use a PVC-rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 40 hub fittings, and follow cure times specified by the cement manufacturer before restoring flow. Verify branch angle orientation before cementing, as the 45-degree entry direction cannot be adjusted after bonding.
