The CHARLOTTE PIPE pvc-102-8x10 is a Schedule 40 PVC increaser/reducer coupling designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) and non-pressure drainage applications. It connects an 8-inch pipe to a 10-inch pipe using a hub x hub end connection, allowing pipe size transitions within gravity-drain systems. Manufactured from PVC material conforming to ASTM D1784, D1785, D2665, D3311, and F1866, this fitting carries a temperature rating of 140 degrees F. It is installed by licensed plumbers in residential and commercial drainage systems where pipe diameter changes are required at a transition point.
This fitting is suited for DWV systems in residential and commercial construction where a change from 8-inch to 10-inch PVC pipe is needed. Typical installations include main drain line transitions, building sewer connections, and underground or above-grade drainage runs. The Schedule 40 wall thickness meets standard code requirements for DWV service, and the hub x hub configuration accepts solvent-cemented pipe on both ends. This part meets CSA, NSF 14/61, and FHA UM-61A standards, making it appropriate for potable-water-adjacent drainage and federally inspected housing applications.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 40 PVC DWV fitting for use with 8-inch and 10-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe in non-pressure drainage systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local code. Shut off water flow and verify the line is depressurized before cutting into an existing drain line. Use the appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 DWV fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring flow. Do not use this fitting in pressurized supply lines or applications exceeding its 140 degrees F temperature rating.
