The Charlotte Pipe Foundry PVC 08200 3600HA is a Schedule 80 PVC reducer bushing designed for threaded pipe systems requiring a size transition. It connects a 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread (MPT) to a 1 inch female pipe thread (FPT), allowing a larger-diameter line to step down to a smaller-diameter fitting or valve. Manufactured in gray PVC, this bushing delivers the pressure rating and chemical resistance that Schedule 80 fittings are known for. Plumbers and pipefitters install this part in industrial, commercial, and residential applications where a threaded reducer is needed without introducing additional unions or adapters.
This bushing is suited for use in cold and hot water distribution, chemical processing lines, irrigation systems, and industrial fluid handling where PVC Schedule 80 fittings are specified. The MPT x FPT configuration makes it a direct-thread reducer, commonly installed at pump outlets, valve inlets, manifolds, and equipment connections requiring a 1-1/2 inch to 1 inch threaded transition. It is sold in packages of 20 units, making it practical for contractors stocking fittings for multi-point installations or service vans.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment reducer bushing compatible with Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems using 1-1/2 inch and 1 inch NPT connections. Universal part reference 839-211.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters working with threaded PVC systems. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for PVC and the specific fluid being conveyed. Do not overtighten threaded PVC fittings with pipe wrenches, as excess torque can crack Schedule 80 fittings; hand-tight plus a controlled additional turn is the standard practice per IPC guidelines.
