The Charlotte Pipe PVC 08109 1600HA is a Schedule 80 PVC male pipe thread adapter designed for slip-to-male-thread transitions in pressure piping systems. Rated for demanding service, Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity than standard Schedule 40 fittings. The slip socket end accepts solvent-welded pipe, while the male NPT threaded end connects directly to female-threaded valves, pumps, or equipment ports. This fitting is manufactured in gray PVC and is sized at 2 inches. It is a standard choice for licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty residential systems where Schedule 80 components are specified.
This adapter is used wherever a solvent-weld PVC line must transition to a male NPT threaded connection. Typical applications include chemical feed systems, irrigation mains, pool and spa plumbing, water treatment equipment hookups, and industrial process piping. The gray Schedule 80 construction is suited for above-ground and exposed installations where UV resistance and mechanical durability are priorities. Sold in a package quantity of 10 units, making it practical for multi-connection jobs or stocking service vehicles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service fitting for 2-inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using slip-inlet to male NPT thread transitions.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Apply PVC solvent cement to the slip socket end per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and use PTFE thread tape or an approved pipe thread sealant on the male NPT threads before making the threaded connection. Do not over-torque the threaded joint, as PVC threads can crack under excessive force.
