The Charlotte Pipe PVC 08101 1400HA is a Schedule 80 PVC female pipe thread adapter designed for joining slip (socket) connections to female pipe thread (FPT) fittings in pressurized piping systems. Constructed from gray PVC, this adapter handles the mechanical and chemical demands common in industrial, commercial, and residential plumbing applications. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure tolerance and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40 fittings. The slip-by-thread configuration makes it a standard transition fitting when connecting smooth pipe ends to threaded pipe or valves. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of larger PVC pressure piping assemblies.
This adapter is suited for use in cold and hot water supply lines, irrigation systems, chemical handling piping, and industrial fluid transfer where PVC Schedule 80 is specified. The 1-inch size is a common nominal diameter found throughout residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The slip inlet accepts pipe or fittings solvent-welded in place, while the female threaded outlet accepts a male-threaded pipe, valve, or fitting. It ships in packages of 15 units, making it appropriate for contractor stocking and multi-connection jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems using 1-inch nominal pipe size with slip and female pipe thread connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and applicable IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or assembling fittings. The slip end requires proper PVC solvent cement and primer applied per the cement manufacturer instructions and ASTM standards. The female threaded end should be assembled with an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on the male threads; do not overtighten, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque.
