The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 04005 1000HC is a Schedule 40, solid-wall PVC pipe rated for cold water pressure and DWV applications. Cut to a 1/2-inch nominal diameter and 5-foot length, it delivers a 600 psi pressure rating suitable for residential and light commercial potable water and drain-waste-vent systems. The plain-end configuration allows field cutting and solvent-welding to fittings on site. Manufactured to ASTM D1785 standards and NSF Listed for potable water contact, this pipe meets the certification requirements plumbers expect for cold water service lines and branch supply runs.

This pipe is suited for cold water supply, pressure distribution, and DWV rough-in work in residential and commercial construction. The 5-foot stick length works well in tight mechanical rooms, under-sink installations, and short branch runs where a full 10-foot or 20-foot length would be impractical. Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable IPC or locally adopted plumbing code. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing system. Use a PVC pipe cutter or fine-tooth saw, deburr cut ends thoroughly, and apply a listed PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 pressure pipe. This product is rated for cold water only — do not use on hot water supply or any heated fluid application.
