The slip x slip x female thread configuration accepts standard PVC pipe on both run ends while the side-inlet port accepts a threaded male connection. Licensed plumbers and irrigation contractors install this fitting where a run of pipe must turn 90 degrees and pick up a branch feed at the same junction.
