The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 02400 5400HA is a white PVC Schedule 40 reducing tee designed to connect a smaller branch line to a full-size pipe run. Configured slip x slip x slip, it accepts solvent-welded connections on all three ports. The run measures 1-1/4 inches by 1-1/4 inches and the branch reduces to 1 inch. Manufactured to meet ASTM D 2466 requirements, this fitting delivers consistent dimensional tolerances and pressure ratings appropriate for low-pressure distribution lines. Plumbers and irrigation technicians install it wherever a reduced-diameter branch must tap off a main run without introducing a full-size tee and a separate bushing.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial sprinkler and irrigation systems where branching to a smaller zone or lateral line is required. The slip connections on all three ports allow quick solvent-cement assembly in confined trenches or valve boxes. Sold in packages of 25, it is a practical stocking item for contractors running multiple zones or performing service replacements on existing irrigation layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock fitting for Schedule 40 PVC pipe systems used in sprinkler and irrigation applications conforming to ASTM D 2466.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified irrigation contractor. Shut off system water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting into an existing run. Clean and dry all pipe ends, apply PVC primer and solvent cement per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and hold each joint for the recommended cure time before pressurizing. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM D 2466 guidelines for joint preparation and assembly.
