The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 02300 4400HA is a white PVC 90-degree reducing elbow designed to make a right-angle turn in a pressure piping run while stepping down from a 1-inch inlet to a 3/4-inch outlet. Both ends are slip-socket connections, accepting solvent-welded PVC pipe. The fitting is manufactured to meet ASTM D 2466 standards, confirming it meets dimensional and pressure-rating requirements for Schedule 40 PVC pressure fittings. Plumbers and irrigation contractors install this fitting where a direction change and a reduction in pipe size occur at the same point in the system.
This reducing elbow is used primarily in residential and light commercial sprinkler and irrigation systems where layout changes require both a 90-degree turn and a pipe size transition in a single fitting. It eliminates the need to combine a straight reducer with a separate elbow, saving space and reducing potential leak points. The slip-by-slip socket configuration is compatible with standard Schedule 40 PVC pipe at both the 1-inch and 3/4-inch sizes. Sold in a package quantity of 50 units, making it suitable for contractors stocking up for irrigation season or larger installation projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC pressure piping systems, including residential and light commercial sprinkler and irrigation applications using 1-inch and 3/4-inch PVC pipe.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified irrigation contractors. Shut off system water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting into an existing run. Use a PVC pipe cutter or handsaw for clean square cuts, then deburr and dry-fit before applying primer and solvent cement per the cement manufacturer and ASTM guidelines. Do not pressure-test the system until solvent cement has fully cured according to the manufacturer-specified cure time for the pipe diameter and ambient temperature.
