The Charlotte Pipe Foundry PVC 02112 3400HA is a white PVC reducer bushing designed to reduce pipe size within a threaded connection. The male-threaded end inserts into a female-threaded fitting or pipe, while the female-threaded end accepts the smaller pipe or fitting. This bushing is manufactured to meet ASTM D 2466 standards, confirming it meets established dimensional and pressure requirements for Schedule 40 PVC fittings. It is a standard component installed by plumbers, irrigation technicians, and pipefitters working on low-pressure piping systems where a threaded size transition is required.
This reducer bushing is commonly used in residential and commercial sprinkler and irrigation systems where a pipe run transitions from a larger nominal size to a smaller one at a threaded joint. The 1.5-inch male thread connects to the larger-side fitting, and the 1.25-inch female thread receives the smaller downstream pipe or fitting. It is also suitable for general PVC threaded plumbing applications where ASTM D 2466 compliance is required. Each unit is sold individually, and the package quantity is 25 pieces.
Designed for use in sprinkler and irrigation systems requiring a threaded 1.5-inch to 1.25-inch reduction; compatible with Schedule 40 PVC threaded fittings and pipe meeting ASTM D 2466 standards.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified irrigation technicians. Hand-tighten the male thread into the receiving female fitting, then use strap wrenches or pipe wrenches to achieve a snug fit — do not overtighten PVC threads, as cracking can result. Apply an appropriate PTFE tape or thread sealant to the male threads before assembly. Shut off system pressure completely before making any threaded connections or disassembling existing fittings.
