The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 02108 1400HA is a PVC reducer bushing used to reduce pipe size within a pipeline run. The bushing features a spigot inlet and a threaded outlet, allowing it to transition from a 1-1/2 inch line down to a 1/2 inch threaded connection. Manufactured from PVC, this fitting meets ASTM D 2466 requirements. It is a standard stocking item sold in packages of 25 and is well suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and irrigation work. Licensed plumbers and irrigation technicians are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This reducer bushing is used in sprinkler and irrigation systems where a mainline or lateral line must be stepped down to feed a smaller-diameter branch or outlet. The spigot end inserts into a standard socket fitting, while the threaded end accepts a female-threaded fitting or nozzle. Typical install scenarios include connecting irrigation laterals, adapting to threaded risers or heads, and reducing line size at manifold transitions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch spigot x 1/2 inch female-threaded PVC piping systems in sprinkler and irrigation applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or certified irrigation technician. Shut off system water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting or disassembling any pipe. Solvent-weld the spigot end into the receiving socket using PVC primer and ASTM D 2564-compliant solvent cement; apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the threaded outlet connection. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for buried depth and joint cure time before returning the system to pressure.
